Electricity can kill!

Every year over 1000 accidents in the workplace involving burns and electric shock are reported to the Health and Safety Executive, and of these 30 will be fatal!

Faulty electrical appliances and leads are the major cause of accidental fire in commercial premises and represents over a quarter of all such fires.

Organisations of all types and sizes have a duty to protect their employees and business from this risk and to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

Failure to comply can have serious implications and be costly with heavy compensation payments and increased insurance premiums – which may even lead to closure of the business.

PAT Testing (Portable Appliance Testing), carried out by competent and experienced personnel, is the recognised method in which companies can demonstrate compliance.
